The four towers of this very contemporary library represent large open books that stand out against the Parisian landscape.
The library houses more than 40 million documents over five centuries. In addition to books, there are also magazines, photographs, sheet music, sound documents, manuscripts, coins, costumes and theatre sets, and video games.
The François Mitterrand library offers reading rooms and a varied cultural programme, with workshops, presentations and visits.
To get to the François Mitterrand library from the Place des Alpes hotel, allow about 20 minutes on foot or by metro.
